For those of you who follow us on Facebook or Pinterest, you’ve probably noticed we here at The Cake Zone have a flair for the fabulous! We’ve even been known to be a little flamboyant with cake designs, upon request of course, and we are always up for a challenge. This past weekend our team delivered what was one of our biggest challenges ever. No, it wasn’t a poker table out of sugar or a mimic of the cake of Prince William and Kate Middleton, but we were asked to create a one-of-a-kind designer’s dream for a lovely bride who just happened to be a very talented artist as well.
She was very specific in her desire to have a sophisticated presentation for her 200 guests, complete with a golden lace-like overlay made from her very own henna-inspired artwork. In the end, her idea culminated in one of the prettiest cakes The Cake Zone has ever produced. Check out the pictures and video below to see how we took a computer drawing made by the couple and converted it to a custom mold (with a little trial and error) that guided us for nearly 24 hours of labor-intensive decorating. It was all-hands-on-deck for this one, but we loved every minute of it. One of our all-time-favorites for sure! If you can dream it, we CAN make it.
