Sarasota Orchid Ball 2016 | Sarasota Event Cake
The 40th anniversary celebration of The Orchid Ball at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota brought together a whimsical night of celebration towards supporting educational programs and research for the gardens.
Beautiful orchids of gradient shades of pink and purple complemented the gorgeous display of “Gowns in the Garden.” This year’s color inspiration of purple and accents of fuchsia, baby-blue and gold created an enchanting ambiance for the outdoor tented reception.
The Cake Zone was proud to create a dessert masterpiece with floral elements that elegantly lowered onto the dance floor, as it was suspended from the ceiling. The over-the-top vision of gold floral detail and breathtaking orchids were picture perfect. This elaborate event cake was definitely a centerpiece of this enchanting evening.
“We wanted a regal theme for this year, and Alla of The Cake Zone was the mastermind behind that creation,” Roger Capote, Director of Events for the Selby Botanical Gardens shared. “Alla’s design work and taste is like no other. I told her over the top and lots of flowers and she delivered that and more.”
Ending the night on a sweet note, The Cake Zone provided Little Tipsy Cakes as custom favors and champagne flavor cupcakes to all 600 guests in attendance.
