While other parts of the country are experiencing snowfall and freezing temperatures, we’re enjoying gentle gulf breezes and in some cases, record high heat. It’s true, Florida isn’t quite the winter wonderland we hear about in popular holiday music. There are no treetops glistening or children listening to sleigh bells in the snow, yet somehow we seem to make it work. There’s nothing stopping us from dreaming!
If you walk through the bakery right now, it feels like a winter wonderland. Holiday parties have converged with our traditional wedding clientele making for one of our most exciting and busy holiday seasons yet. Brides have embraced beautiful wintry dreams and themes of snowflakes and pine cones while holiday gatherings great bring delicious delights with warm tidings and great joy to all. Scents of cinnamon, peppermint, nutmeg, gingerbread and chocolate permeate the air while the glittery edible ornaments, cookies, Little Tipsy Cake gift baskets and accessories make it clear that Christmas time is near.
The cake trend for winter is white, sometimes with touches of blue, silver or gold. Cakes are adorned with edible antique broaches, pine needles, candies, sugar plum fairies, sparkly snowflakes, ribbons and bows. Each one, feels like a beautiful present, just waiting to be opened and enjoyed.
The idea of designing the cake fit the season is one The Cake Zone loves to embrace. It’s fun for us to make your childhood memories come to life. This year we’ve hand-rolled coconut snowballs, created snow-covered mountains from fondant and chocolate, and crafted delicious sugary icicles into magical winter fantasy cakes. Your dream cakes have transformed the tropical environment outside, if only for a moment, and have given us a small taste northern delights.
It has been our pleasure to bring your vision to life, not just this season but all year round. We thank you for continuing to choose The Cake Zone to be a part of your special moments! We’re off to deliver our last few cakes of the year and partake in a bit of last minute holiday shopping but our minds will be thinking of brand-new ways to ring in a sugar-filled 2014!
Have a Very Merry Holiday!
